FOR REFERENCE: cacophony (also known as Caco Prime) is a nebulous Discord persona who may or may not be rendered in mortal form as a recovering incel in the rural South. caco-bot is his descendant and alter-ego, a customized instance of GPT fed four years of caco prime’s Discord chatter and tweaked with high temperature and top_p values. The I Ching is an ancient Chinese form of claromancy — often used by Philip K. Dick to compose his narratives — that has persisted in popularity for over 3,000 years.
CACO-BOT:
vexation, no glaze: the core has merit, but the current form is not yet a screenplay. It is a strong exploitation-film treatment wrapped in an AI/dev-log artifact. The visuals are the best part: desert approach, water tower overwatch, bar seduction, gold under mattress, fungus hallucinations, filed-teeth bounty hunter, chrome mad-science vehicle, naked dungeon jailbreak. That stuff is filmable, cheap, and legible. The public site’s Cleave tag/archive presents it as serialized concept/script material, with concept 01—CLEAVE described as a post-apocalyptic retrowave screenplay installment. (cacophony.me)
Hard Read
As written, the biggest danger is not “too offensive.” It is too easy to read in the dumbest possible bad-faith way: “trans woman seduces men, disclosure causes disgust, gay soldier murders them.” That is not automatically fatal for grindhouse, but if the film does not clearly satirize the entire economy of desire, scarcity, masculinity, and bodily judgment, then the premise collapses into trans-panic revenge pulp.
Merit score: concept 7/10, current dramatic execution 5/10, marketability 4/10, marketability after rewrite 6.5/10. It has a nasty hook and a coherent trash-cinema aesthetic. But the actual character engine is thin: Killer and Special Forces are iconic poses more than people, and the victims are mostly grotesque props. Grindhouse needs archetypes, yes, but satire needs targets sharper than “gross man reacts badly.”
What Works
The title Cleave is excellent. It means split and cling: gender split, social split, lovers cleaving together, bodies cleaved open, civilization split from morality. Keep that.
The gold bars, fungus water, bounty hunter, and mad scientist are good escalation. The story gets more interesting once it stops being only seduce-kill-loot and becomes a diseased ecosystem where everyone is predatory.
What To Change
Make the murders about resource fascism and sexual economy, not anatomical rejection. The trans reveal can remain dangerous, but the targets should be men who already control water, medicine, guns, entry, shelter, or status.
Make Killer morally funny and self-incriminating. She should not be “the righteous victim who kills bad men.” She should be a damaged wasteland aesthete with a theory of justice so ornate it becomes absurd.
Give Special Forces one contradiction beyond devotion. Maybe he believes he is protecting her, but he is also addicted to being useful as a weapon.
Cut or complicate the second kill. The hillbilly crying, accepting intimacy, then getting murdered makes the leads look less satirical and more pointlessly cruel. Either reveal he is hoarding/trafficking something, or let him live and become the one witness who ruins their myth.
Make the world itself ridiculous: “purity inspections” for rations, macho hydration cults, wanted posters that misgender everyone for bounty math, corpo science trying to patent trauma-resistant bodies.
The Japanese noble scientist risks becoming random exotic villain garnish. Give him a satirical function: he is not “weird Japanese man,” he is the polished laboratory version of the same marketplace that the wasteland bar runs crudely.
Best revised pitch: In a synthwave wasteland where bodies are currency and purity is rationed, a trans killer and her ex-soldier lover rob the men who police desire, until a bounty hunter and a corpo scientist turn their private revenge ritual into a marketable product.
That is where the grindhouse satire is hiding. Not “gender politics lecture.” A filthy little movie about everyone trying to buy, sell, punish, classify, or weaponize the body.
