Campground Obama

I dreamt last night that Obama was the leader of some kind of Campground Community instead of President of the United States. But this community was like a Microcosm of the U.S. as a whole, so divisions began to form. Eventually a large portion of the Community seceded and took over part of the Campground’s buildings for themselves. I was part of the team responsible for getting these Dissidents to come back to the Primary Community.

I distinctly remember sitting in a planning meeting with Obama and Obama suddenly perked up, got a huge smile on his face, and asked, “Time for a smoke break?” He was almost like a kid asking for candy. One of his advisers said, “No, sir, no smoke break. We’re out of cigarettes.” And I got the impression that they were just telling him that to keep him from smoking.

Anyway, I brought a plan to the leader of the Dissidents that, if they came back to the Community peacefully, all charges would be dropped for their secession. But, if they didn’t, deadly force would be authorized and anybody who did survive would be prosecuted for treason.

The leader looked at me with a disappointed look and said, “Can’t you see? We’re tired of all this authoritarian, militaristic behavior. We want the Community to dial back on its provocations and threats, and spend less money on building or buying weapons.”

I took the message back to Obama and he said, “Great, so we’re dealing with nutjobs.” Just like they treat anybody who questions U.S. Military Force.

I told Obama, “We do have an outrageously powerful security force. Perhaps it wouldn’t be ridiculous for us to dial it back a little.” And he looked at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears.

To be honest he seemed far more interested in finding a way to smoke a cigarette than he did in peacefully resolving this crisis. He just wanted to go in and crush them as quickly as possible and get it over with so he could get his fix.
