Zerging It

Had several interesting dreams last night. The first one seems portentous, and I’m not quite sure what to make of it. In the dream, Christ came back to earth to explain his Doctrine, or Philosophy, or Whatever You Want To Call It. However, he looked nothing like the Christ we see in all the Medieval paintings. He was a Centaur with two human bodies poking up out of the horse section, except the right body had been cloven in two and was dead and dripping guts and blood. I somehow instinctively knew that this was his brother, Satan, and that Christ had slain him.

He began explaining his doctrine: that everyone can be Saved through Grace, that Works are no longer required, that we should love one another and spread Peace throughout the World. However, while he was talking, a voice from God spoke in my heart and warned me, Are you certain you should listen to someone who slew his only brother? His thoughts are corrupt. True salvation is hard – rigorous and demanding. You can’t just wish your way into Heaven, you have to work for it. I am a wrathful, angry and judgmental God.

I think I had this dream because of all the Old Testament reading I’ve been doing lately, which is filled with Hellfire and Damnation and the Judgments of God toward a Sinful people. Jeremiah actually says at some points that God will not forgive those who repent, since they have gone so far in their depravity. I may have mentioned this in a previous entry, but I feel like all these words were put in the Bible for a reason, and I fear they may still have some relevance for today. I think you can be too far gone, and I place myself in that category. I think you have to at least try to be Righteous in order to be saved, and I don’t. This dream was probably just an expression of my opinions regarding the Bible, but it was so portentous, I almost feel as though it was a message from God.

In the second dream, I lived on a planet different from Earth, even though it was still Earth-like. This planet was infested with Zerg-like Insectoid monsters. My Dad had a special remote that could call in orbital bombardments against the foul creatures, to keep them under check, since they were so numerous and bred so prodigiously they might overrun the human settlements. However, he had neglected his duty, and the Zerg completely occupied my home and I had to retreat to a cave. I had a minigun turret and was fending off the approaching hordes, until they just swarmed me in too great of numbers for me to persist. So I withdrew, going to find my Dad so he could call in the Orbital Strike.

I wasn’t able to find him, so I returned to my home. There, Uncle and Granny Bernadette had cleansed the place of all the creatures. I asked them how they did it, and they looked at me like I was a moron. They said, “We just followed the recommended protocols, of course. We threw Molotov cocktails at them and bathed them in fire until they pulled back.” I was astonished at their resolve, but happy they had managed to clear our home.

Later on I ran into Dad, and asked him to lend me his remote so I could call in the Orbital Strike myself, since he obviously wasn’t going to do it. I looked at the screen on the remote, trying to scan for the monsters, but I couldn’t detect a significant enough presence to justify a strike. I was even more shocked to learn that my family had cleared almost all of them from the small planet we lived on.

In the third dream, Uncle was trying to build a bridge to Heaven. He was using something like wood and twine and anti-gravity devices to build a huge bridge that sloped up at a steep angle into the sky. It was an abysmal failure. There were huge gaps in the bridge, and in some places it was falling down, and rather than repair these, Brent insisted that you must jump across the gaps to continue climbing. There were some pretty huge gaps, and some of the bridge sections were far below the others, so you would have to fall dozens of feet. Amazingly, I was able to navigate it without much trouble. However, Brent had given up after several hundred stories, and I denounced the entire project as a Debacle. He seemed offended by this.

In the last dream, I was hanging out with Christian and friends and we were all smoking up again and playing Halo: Reach. I was very apprehensive of smoking, but even though I got really high, I didn’t experience any of the Paranoia that I usually do and had a great time. I can’t really remember much more about that dream, except some of the dudes from Asbury College were there, too.
